castles, obama, and nato

this week has not only been the most rewarding, informational, and best of my life, it has been hisotorical. the 60th nato summit is taking place in strausbourg, president obama just spoke to thousands of french and german citizens and i am experiencing it all. it is difficult to take in, but we (the cape fear global club) are living history.

yesterday we all were one. american or french, democrat or republican, black or white. the unification in the center where obama spoke was ever present as he preached about the importance of cordial relations between the usa and europe. i was so proud to be an american yesterday as the thousands of people cheered for our president and his hope for the global community.

i have to go, will upload more later

Finally here!

after a long day of traveling, i made it. the keyboard is different so bare with me. we flew from wilmington to charlotte, than from charlotte to frankfurt. some of the students from france surprised us at the airport, including my host student, Nicolas. after a three hour bus ride, we finally arrived in france! first i met nikkos mom and had a wonderful lunch, she is an excellent cook. afterwards we walked around his neighborhood, went to a baguette shop and had a wonderful afternoon. nikkos mom drove us to strausbourg and we ate flamm, it was delicious. i took several pictures of the beautiful buildings and churches.i will write more about my day later, i must get ready for the afternoon!
